Thought-provoking Speakers at the Teneriffe Lions Club Dinner
10th March 2026: Suzanna and Andrew from Blue Phoenix bravely…
Our mental health advocacy aims to change the way people think about mental health issues.
With all of our projects and presentations, we aim to stimulate conversation at the grassroots community level
to create awareness
and hope in recovery
extending to all who deal with mental health issues.
Let’s rise together!

… about mental health and wellbeing
because when we talk,
tell the stories,
discuss stigma;
encourage a dialogue that can dispel ignorance and myth,
we open our own and others’ hearts and minds
to connection, hope, compassion and recovery.

Launching in Queensland Mental Health Week and becoming our major project for 2024, the pebble project involves physical pebbles as metaphors for the ripples of change that Blue Phoenix creates in community conversations and that others can take up for themselves.

The creation of this magnificent quilt was a group initiative involving the collaboration of embroidery guilds. Many volunteer embroiderers contributed to its creation with their resourcefulness, insightfulness and creativity on how to change heart and mind perceptions around mental health conditions.
