A Meeting with the Queensland Mental Health Commissioner

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the offices of the Queensland Mental Health Commissioner and our meeting with the nam, himself, Ivan Frkovic.

From the website

The Mental Health Commission drives reform of the mental health and alcohol and other drugs systems in Queensland.

Their job is to encourage and facilitate change to improve the mental health and wellbeing of all Queenslanders, with a focus on:

  • improving the mental health and wellbeing of all Queenslanders
  • preventing and reducing the impact of mental illness
  • preventing and reducing the impact of problematic alcohol and other drug use
  • preventing and reducing the impact of suicide.

They actively seek the views and experiences of people with a lived experience to help shape the reform agenda. The collective effort of all stakeholders is essential to bring about reform and better outcomes for all Queenslanders. We work across a broad range of areas including health, social, education, child safety, employment, economic and justice sectors.

The Commission is a statutory body established under the Queensland Mental Health Commission Act 2013.
