10th March 2026: Suzanna and Andrew from Blue Phoenix bravely shared their life stories at the Teneriffe Lions Club dinner. Two professionals enjoying conventional life paths when each had an incident which dramatically affected their mental health.

Blue Phoenix has a simple and direct approach: get out into the Community to talk openly about mental health. Remove mental health stigma by putting a human face to the stories we all read; an approach which really drives home that “this could have been me”.

Suzanna was invited to

present

at a workshop on psychosis

at the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital.

She was pleased with the positive feedback

from the Psychology Department management.

She was joined for support –

by members, Debbie Kooistra and Andrew McLean

and her Pastor, Bharat Naker.

Earlier this year, members and speakers from Blue Phoenix visited a meeting of the Logan branch of Soroptimist International.

It was a pleasure to present our message and to learn some more about this organisation.

It was also lovely to meet the ladies themselves and chat about their work for the rights for girls and women around the world – and, of course, here in South East Queensland.
